Onion Tomato Chutney - Recipe ( For IDLI, DOSA & Hot White Rice )

Serves : 2 cups chutney
Ingredients
ā¢ 2 medium onion
ā¢ 1 medium tomato
ā¢ 4-5 clovettes garlic
ā¢ 1 tablespoon - coriander leaves
ā¢ 1 tablespoon - gram dal soaked for 1 hour
ā¢ 1 3ā³ piece tamarind broken
ā¢ 1 sprig curry leaves
ā¢ 1 piece - ginger
ā¢ 1 teaspoon - red chilli powder
ā¢ salt to taste
ā¢ 1/2 teaspoon - sugar
ā¢ 1/2 teaspoon - cumin seeds
ā¢ 1 tablespoon. oil
For Seasoning Ingredients :
ā¢ 1 teaspoon - oil.
ā¢ 1/2 teaspoon - mustard seeds.
ā¢ 1/2 teaspoon - cumin seeds.
ā¢ 1 pinch asafoetida.
Preparation Method
1. First Heat the 1 tablespoon. oil add to the other ingredients except seasoning.
Grind either on stone, or in electric stone grinder, or in a mixie.
2. Transfer to a serving bowl and Heat oil in a small crucible, add the seeds and
asafoetida. When they splutter, add to the chutney. and Mix gently.
Serve with parathas, dosas, idlis, or just Hot White Rice.
