Sambar For Idli & Dosa (Real South Indian Taste)
:: This Real South Indian Sambar is specially made for IDLI , DOSA & WHITE RICE. It is very simple and also tastes great with IDLI RECIPES, DOSA RECIPES & WHITE RICE :: |

Meal Type : Sambar
• 2 finely chopped - Onion.
• 3 finely chopped - Tomato( big and juicy ones).
• ½ cup - Moong dal /split yellow green gram.
• 2 finely chopped - Green chillies.
• A pinch - Turmeric powder .
• 2 teaspoon - Sambar powder ( optional ).
• Salt to taste.
• 1/3 cup - Vegetables (optional).
• (mix of carrot, potato, chow chow/chayote).
FOR SEASONING INGREDIENTS:
• ½ teaspoon Mustard.
• 1 teaspoon - Urad dal
• A generous pinch - Hing.
• 5 Curry leaves.
• 4 teaspoon - Oil.
1. First Heat oil and add the ingredients for seasoning. Fry onions well, add 3 green
chillies, tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. and After Add veggies at this stage,
if you are using it. (Add 4 chillies if you are not using sambar powder).
2. Now Add dal, salt, turmeric powder, sambar powder,1 cup of water and pressure
cook till soft .When the pressure is released, boil for a few seconds and garnish with
coriander leaves .But This sambar should be watery, so adjust consistency accordingly.
