VADA Recipe
:: Vada is a very popular South Indian snack. It is very crispy, delicious and served hot with SAMBAR or CHUTNEY. In the following lines, we have provided an easy recipe of Vada. Let us know how to make the dish :: |
{ Preparation in water overnight }

Ingredients
• 4 cups urad dal
• 1 cup ordinary rice
• 2 teaspoon ginger(grated)
• 1 tablrspoon coconut (grated coarsely)
• 10 whole pepper corns
• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
• salt to taste
• Oil For Deep Fry
Preparation Method
1. First Wash and soak dal and rice together in plenty of water overnight. Then Drain,
grind to a soft batter, a fine grain should be felt in it. (Do not make the batter thin.
It should be thick enough to shape vadas.)
2. Now Add all ingredients and beat well with hand to incorporate air and Heat oil,
wet palm and take an IDLI sized lump on fingers palm side up and Make a hole in the
middle with thumb. Now Slip gently into hot oil, repeat for more. (Or Use a vada Hand
press Like this Picture) :
3. Now Fry 5-6 at a time on medium flame:
Drain and Serve hot with CHUTNEY and SAMBAR, or accompany with IDLI NORMAL DOSA or MASALA DOSA.
