Instructions to do proper Upward-Facing Dog 
(Urdhva Mukha Svanasana):

ā€¢ Lay down on your abs
ā€¢ Hands beside the side ribs
ā€¢ Soften the upper back
ā€¢ Inhale & exhale, push the hands and lift yourself off the floor (only toes & palms are on the floor).

Benefits of practicing Upward-Facing Dog
(Urdhva Mukha Svanasana):

ā€¢ Strengthening the spine, arms, wrists
ā€¢ Stretching chest and lungs, shoulders, and abdomen
ā€¢ Stimulating abdominal organs
